Breaking the Cycle of Poverty & Despair One Life at a Time Since 1924
Breaking the cycle of poverty and despair is our mission. For many, that cycle lasts for generations. That’s what inspired James Gamble of Procter & Gamble to found City Gospel Mission back in 1924. Our focus has always been on relationships, and with support from hundreds of churches and countless volunteers, we help thousands of people and families each year in the Greater Cincinnati Area. We focus on four main causes: Food and shelter, Recovery, Jobs, And Youth.
At our emergency homeless shelter, there is dignity. Guests receive 3 meals a day, safe shelter, and guidance to succeed long-term.
In our recovery program, there is deliverance. Men and women get the support they need to overcome life-controlling issues.
In our jobs program, there is independence. Job-seekers receive the training they need and get help securing a job.
And in our youth programs, there is determination. At-risk youth are guided from cradle-to-career so that they will flourish and be free of the cycle.
We’re breaking the cycle of poverty and despair one life at a time. Sharing God’s love together and the hope that comes with it is still the way.
We’ve created a brand overview video so you can check out what City Gospel Mission is all about.
